You signed the contract, or just wondering what to expect as soon as you sign up. I’ll detail in this post what the onboarding looks like so you know what happens in the first month of the Google Ads management service.
Before you even consider onboarding, you need to pass the vibe check, aka “on a scale of 1 to 10 how delusional are you?” or what normal people would call expectations assessment.
1. You Join Trello
It’s just a fancy to do list and you don’t have to learn to use it if you don’t want to, it’s mainly for me, to keep me accountable because I am human and I sometimes forget things. It’s also a place for me to dump all the ideas I have for you.

It’s broken down into weeks. Here’s an overview of the first 4 weeks.
Week 1
- Get access to your accounts (Google Ads, Bing Ads, Facebook Ads, Analytics, GTM, GSC & backend).
- Competitor review – I use a sheet template called Ad Recon, credit to Ed Leake, to check how your ads compare to what else is out there and what we can do to make them better.
- Full account review – a health checklist to review all aspects of a well structured account – structure, tracking, account & campaigns settings, audiences and everything else in between
- 6-month forecast – this is just a sheet that includes keywords we’ll be targeting in ads with some hypothetical KPIs of what things could look like if the conversion rate and average order values stay true.
- Quarterly projections – historical trends of quarterly performance and a guess for the best and worst case possible, because forecasts are highly speculative even if you have a lot of data.
Week 2
- Fix critical issues
- 3 month plan
- New ad copy
- Landing page review
- New campaigns
- Go live
Week 3
- Set up reports
- Set up automations
- Set up scripts
Week 4
- Recurring optimisations
That’s it :)
